  • Overview

    The Clinical Project Manager (Marketing & Communications) will work to support the aims of the Type 1 Diabetes TrialNet Clinical Network Hub, an NIDDK-funded grant in the Diabetes Clinical Research Program based at the Benaroya Research Institute. This position will serve on the Hub team working in partnership with the Hub Director and the Hub Program Manager to further the primary goals of the TrialNet Hub:
    • Assuring that neither recruitment nor operations are limiting factors in TrialNet meeting its’ clinical objectives.
    • Advancing systems and a culture that are sustainable and scalable, adaptable and forward thinking.

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for overall marketing and communications of the type 1 Diabetes TrialNet research portfolio.
    • Developing branding and messaging related to disease progression in type 1 diabetes.
    • Development of resources to support outreach & recruitment of TrialNet studies.
    • Managing internal member communication.
    • Work closely with TrialNet Leadership including Study Chairs, Principal Investigators and TrialNet Coordinating Center’s staff including clinical research associates to identify and execute marketing and communication initiatives.
    • Work in a collaborative environment that emphasizes innovation and creativity and offers the opportunity to change the course of type 1 diabetes research.

     

    Essential Duties:

    • Create comprehensive marketing and communications plan for external audiences including current participants, prospective participants and the scientific community.
    • Develop, manage and maintain collateral, including research study sheets, website content, brochures and internal communications.
    • Identify and monitor metrics as needed to evaluate marketing effectiveness
    • Responsible for ensuring branding and messaging is updated and consistent across resources and campaigns. Ensure that the TrialNet brand remains recognizable and up to date. Plan ways to promote – and educate the public about TrialNet’s accomplishments, goals, and mission.
    • Responsible for writing press releases and other media communications, responding to requests for information.
    • Manage marketing for research study launches.
    • Proactively monitor and provide regular updates to management team concerning status, metrics and progress of projects.
    • Manage each project within agreed upon timelines.
    • Lead or participate in internal process improvement initiatives related to increasing efficiencies.
    • Collaborate with the Hub Director and Hub Program Manager to develop outcomes and indicators that will be used to monitor the Hub’s progress towards its goals.
    • Participate on the team, providing input on decision-making and strategic direction for the Hub.
    • Assist with the development of presentations, handouts, and coordination of Steering Committee Meetings.
    • Work collaboratively with cross-functional internal and external teams including TrialNet Data Coordinating Center, TrialNet Clinical Center staff—Principal Investigators and Research Coordinators.
    • Perform other tasks as assigned.

    Requirements

    • Ability to lead, organize, and prioritize multiple projects and requests simultaneously.
    • Ability to lead a project team, keeping team focused and discussions moving forward, resolve conflicts with both internal and external audiences as well as invoke a level of confidence and authority to various department leaders and levels of management.
    • Passion for customers and drive to understand prospective participants needs, translating that into relevant and useful content marketing.
    • Interact professionally in all conversations, correspondence and meetings. Willingness to prepare extensively, as well as an ability to think critically and quickly on the spot, as well as the ability to project confidence and competence in public forums.
    • Strong copywriting, editing and proofreading skills with focused attention to detail.
    • Data-driven decision making and a growth mindset.
    • Strong ability to partner, plan, communicate and build relationships with internal and external teams and vendors.
