Staff Scientist

The Buckner Lab studies the following autoimmune diseases: type 1 diabetes (T1D), rheumatoid arthritis (RA), multiple sclerosis (MS), systemic lupus erythematosus, and relapsing polychondritis. They have extensive experience in MHC class II tetramers, T cell cloning, T and B cell functional assays and phenotyping of human lymphocytes.

The Staff Scientist position will require the planning and performance of experiments related to human immunology requiring a broad set of molecular biology, biochemical and tissue culture skills, and the analysis of data, preparation and presentation of data for publication.

• Requires a PhD or MD PhD or MD with relevant postdoctoral training in immunology or molecular biology
• Minimum of three years of related postdoctoral training;
• Provides guidance and instruction to research technicians, summer interns, students and volunteers;
• Strong experience with multi-color flow cytometry;
• Previous experience in Human T cell biology or knowledge in bioinformatics is a plus;
• Additional expertise in other laboratory techniques related to molecular biology and biochemistry research will also be considered;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English with good organizational and analytical abilities and an interested in driving towards publications;
• Capable of working independently on assigned projects as well as striving in a team-based organization;
• The ability to work a flexible schedule is also desirable
