Overview

BRI offers college undergraduates the chance to expand their learning experiences beyond the traditional classroom through its in-person Summer Internship Program. The 8-week internship offers top-achieving and highly motivated science students the opportunity to work and learn under the mentorship of BRI's renowned researchers. The 2023 summer internship will run from June 20th-August 11th, 2023

 

This position is for 20 hours per week and will be paid $18.69 per hour.

Responsibilities

Interns will:

  • Be assigned to a research laboratory for the duration of the internship
  • Work directly with a mentor in the lab to perform experiments and/or analyze data
  • Attend laboratory-specific meetings
  • Attend and participate in organized educational programs with other summer interns, including journal clubs, seminar series, and roundtable discussions
  • Present research findings at the end of the internship at a research symposium

Qualifications

  • Enrollment in a college or university with completion of at least one year education at this level, though preference will be given to students that have completed at least 2 years of college coursework by the start of the internship
  • College coursework in the sciences, preferably in biology, is required
