Overview

The Lord Laboratory is currently seeking a highly motivated and creative individual for the position of Research Technician I. The Research Technician is needed for non-clinical laboratory experiments involving acquisition and processing of human blood and tissue specimens, flow cytometry, cell culture, gene expression analysis, cytokine quantification and immunohistochemistry.

Responsibilities

  • Isolating and performing cell culture experiments with human blood and tissue cells
  • Freezing, thawing, and culturing human cells and cell lines
  • Staining, analyzing, and sorting cells by flow cytometry
  • Isolating, amplifying, and analyzing DNA and RNA from human cells
  • Obtaining tissue specimens from an affiliated hospital
  • Organizing and maintaining inventory of laboratory equipment and supplies

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree with research experience in basic immunology, molecular cellular biology, and/or histopathology.
  • Prior work in a laboratory environment preferred
  • May require skill in animal surgery technique.
  • Must have basic mathematical, data recording, computer database, data and statistical analysis skills

Compensation

$22.46 to $31.89 per hour
