Benaroya Research Institute (BRI) is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Scientific Editor to join our team. Responsibilities

  • Grant and manuscript preparation:
    • Assist with research and preparation of scientific grant applications and manuscripts.
    • Edit documents, prepare supporting materials, and ensure compliance with government policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Grant management:
    • Track and manage grant application requirements, including submission deadlines and specific criteria.
    • Identify and recommend potential funding sources.
  • Collaborative grant support:
    • Work on individual investigator grants, multi-PI grants, and research center grants.
    • Collaborate with diverse teams, including students, postdoctoral fellows, and principal investigators (PIs).
  • Seminar coordination:
    • Plan, organize, and manage logistics for the BRI seminar series, including WIP, Research Crossroads, and Wilske series.
    • Coordinate communication with the lead PI for each seminar series.
  • Cross-institutional collaboration:
    • Provide support to PIs at both BRI and VMMC.
  • Reporting:
    • Reports to the Manager, Science Writing Group.

Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in biological sciences or related field, and 3 - 5 years of experience in scientific editing and project management, or, equivalent combination of experience and education.

Compensation

$73,680 to $114,200 per year
